Effects/properties
Proteins are essential to the horse’s vital functions
Proteins build-up and maintains the horse’s bones, tissue and muscles. Furthermore, proteins are part of the body’s biological compounds, e.g. enzymes and hormones, and they strengthen the immune system.
Therefore, most horses need a protein supplement in order to maintain growth and to maintain the body’s functions - also when the horse is pregnant and producing milk. By lack of protein and unbalance there is a risk of reduced growth for young horses and loss of energy and performance level for training horses and race horses.
